Soran University Wraps Up its Two-Day Forum on the International Day of Mother Language
Soran University's two-day celebration of International Mother Language Day concluded on Monday, February 17th, with a series of panels and poetry sessions. The forum, organized by the Department of Kurdish Language at the Faculty of Arts, focused on the theme "The Role of Mother Language in Preserving Kurdish Identity." The event was attended by Dr. Karmand Abdullah Hamad, Dean of the faculty of Arts, faculty and students.
The first part of the final day featured two panel sessions.
The first panel: Language and Identity between the current situation and the laws related to language

Prof.Dr. Pakhshan Sabir Ahmad, The Kurdish language between the constitution and the system of government in South Kurdistan.
Lect. Amjad Shakali, The current status of the Kurdish language in the Kurdish media.
Masoud Babayi, Language and Identity.
The second panel: The impact of foreign languages on the Kurdish language and ways to preserve and promote it.
Lect. Renas Khalid Qadir, panel moderator.
Lect. Bayan Salman, The role of the novel in the preservation and development of the Kurdish language.
Dr. Golchin Aziz, lect. Faruq Aziz, The impact of the English and Arabic languages on the Kurdish language.
The second part of the event featured a poetry recitation session by lect. Ahmad Muhammad.
The closing ceremony included the distribution of certificates of participation to the panelists and panel moderators.
