At the beginning of the meeting, AP. Dr. Sherwan Sharif Qurtas, President of Soran University, delivered a speech. He expressed his gratitude to the forum organizers. In a part of his speech, the university president spoke about the event and said: "We are delighted to be holding a forum today for a scholar and thinker who is like a treasure for the present and future of the Kurds, namely Hazrat Mahwi, who left behind a valuable treasure after him. Therefore, it is necessary for us and the universities to benefit from Mahwi's texts, knowledge, wisdom, and literature and make it a foundation for future generations."
He also addressed the organizers of the forum and the attendees, requesting that this forum be made a foundation for holding a conference dedicated to Mahwi, so that his worldview and knowledge can be made more apparent to everyone because Hazrat Mahwi's knowledge and wisdom are much greater than what can be discussed in a single forum.
Following that, the poet's family's speech was delivered by Dr. Agirin Abdullah Agirin. At the beginning of his speech, he conveyed the poet's family's thanks and gratitude to Soran University, stating his happiness at holding this forum. He spoke about the poet's life, literary and mystical journey, thoughts, and beliefs as a scholar.
The purpose of this forum was to revive the works, knowledge, and wisdom of Mahwi the poet as a scholar for the present and future generations. During the event, several research studies were presented in two panels regarding the life, poetic journey, and knowledge of Mahwi. The panelists generally focused on the science and types of poetry, and the influence and role of the poet in Kurdish literature. On the other hand, they discussed Mahwi the poet's relationship with the power and society of his time, his thoughts and beliefs about Islam, and the influence of the Sufi order and tribe on the poet.
A section of the event was dedicated to reading the poems of Hazrat Mahwi, and several his poems were read to the audience.
