The Local Products Promotion Festival is Held at Soran University


On Wednesday, October 16, 2024, the Faculties of Science and Education of Soran University jointly held the annual food festival on World Food Day under the theme "Towards the Promotion of Local Production."  The event  was attended by AP. Dr. Sherwan Sharif Qurtas, President of Soran University, government and party officials, teachers, and students.

The purpose of organizing this festival at Soran University was to encourage and display local products and crafts, encourage students to do better in the future, and encourage them to have their businesses. A total of 15 local companies, 15 farmers, and 70 students from Soran University took part in the festival.

Note: As part of the festival, a symposium entitled "Towards the Promotion of Local Production" was held the previous day at the Faculty of Science with two panel discussions.
At the first panel, two topics were introduced by AP.Dr.  Nabil Hussein Rasoul's article entitled "Food Preservation Due to Chemical Additives" and Dr. Samir Ahmed Asata's second article, entitled "The Impact of Healthy Food on the Quality of Mother's Milk and the Development of the Fetus."

Later, two topics were presented at the second session, the first by Prof. Dr. Ruffael Shlimon Toma, entitled "Improving Two New Local Potato Varieties with Plant Tissue Cultivation Technique for the First Time in Irrigation in the Kurdistan Region.“. The second subject was presented by Dr. Karzan Muhammad Khalid, entitled ”Reconstruction of Irrigation and Pillars of Food Security.”
