On Monday, December 16th, 2024, in the presence of AP. Dr. Sherwan Sharif Qurrtas, President of Soran University, a joint workshop entitled 'British Academic Writing Workshop' was held between Soran University and Durham University."

The workshop is part of a collaborative project between the two universities, which started on March 28,  2023, and runs until March 31, 2025, and is funded by the British Academy.

Dr. Mohammad Ali Yasin Taha, is representing SU, and Prof. Dr.  Bahar Basar,  who is representing Durham University, will lead the project. During the implementation of the project, several workshops and webinars were held by talented trainers from different countries. These workshops are scheduled for the next three months, with the participation of several researchers from universities in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq.

The primary goal of this project is to strengthen the capabilities of early-career researchers by enhancing their academic writing skills and supporting their publication in renowned and prestigious international journals. This will also provide a brighter future for emerging researchers.

With this goal in mind, many of the researchers involved in the project were able to publish their research in high-impact international journals, which underscores the project's positive impact on the participants.
