Soran University Marks the 127th Anniversary of Kurdish Journalism
On Tuesday, April 22, 2025, Soran University hosted a ceremony attended by Asst. Prof. Dr. Sherwan Sharif Qurtas, President of Soran University, members of the university council, the Soran branch of the Kurdistan Journalists Syndicate, media professionals, and journalists from the Soran district to commemorate the 127th anniversary of Kurdish journalism.
At the beginning, Asst. Prof. Dr. Sherwan Sharif Qurtas delivered a speech, extending congratulations and highlighting the significant role of media and journalists in conveying the university’s scientific messages to society. He also emphasized their prominent role in connecting the university with the external environment.
During the event, an open discussion on journalistic endeavors took place between Soran’s media professionals and the university’s academic staff, aiming to foster greater coordination and collaborative efforts to better serve the scientific and academic fields in the Soran region.
In conclusion, Asst. Prof. Dr. Sherwan Sharif Qurtas presented appreciation shields to media institutions.
