Soran University Concludes Civil Defense Accident-Related Training Courses

On Wednesday, February 26, 2025, Soran University concluded the civil defense incident training courses. The event was attended by Soran University President Asst.Prof.Dr. Sherwan Sharif Qurtas, several members of the university council, Karwan Mirawdali, Director of the Soran Civil Defense Directorate, university faculty, staff, and students.
The training courses, which focused on civil defense related incidents, were organized by the Health and Safety Directorate of Soran University in collaboration with the Soran Civil Defense Directorate. They were designed for faculty, employees, and students of Soran University.
During the ceremony, Soran University President expressed his gratitude to the Soran Civil Defense Directorate for conducting workshops, seminars, and other activities at Soran University, and  implementing  Civil Defense full safety requirements within the university's dormitories, and expressed his desire for continuation for such cooperation and activities.
Later, Lieutenant Colonel Karwan Karwan Mirawdali, Director of the Soran Civil Defense Directorate spoke about the objectives and importance of holding such activities to minimize civil defense-related accidents.
Over three weeks, the Soran Civil Defense Directorate conducted a three-week series of theoretical and practical workshops at Soran University. These workshops were designed to enhance awareness among faculty, staff, and students regarding the causes and types of fires, the proper use of safety equipment, and effective techniques for preventing incidents such as fires and drownings, as well as safely managing hazardous situations until civil defense teams arrive.
The final workshop conducted in the faculty of Education was divided into two parts: a theoretical session covering the topics, followed by a practical session where participants learned how to use equipment and handle liquefied cylinder fires.
In the final part of the event, Soran University President presented certificates of appreciation to the director and trainers of the Soran Civil Defense Directorate.
